Avantree Ensemble is the more flexible system on paper, supporting Optical (TOSLINK) and 3.5mm AUX via the included transmitter and also listing Bluetooth. However, it has strict compatibility notes: HDMI-only TVs won’t work, and soundbar passthrough setups are not supported. It also requires correct TV audio settings (Optical output and PCM format) to avoid no-audio problems.
Avantree HF039 is straightforward: it uses a 3.5mm wired connection and lists broad device compatibility (TVs, PCs, phones, tablets, and more). If your TV has the right port, HF039 avoids wireless variables. If your TV has Optical but no easy headphone jack, Ensemble can be the more practical fit—provided you can meet its setup requirements.
